Endodontic therapy involves treating diseases of the soft tissue inside the tooth. Prior to root canal treatment extraction of a tooth with a diseased nerve was the only long-lasting alternative.
A common misconception is that a root canal is a painful procedure. Actually, root canals are similar to having a cavity filled, producing minimal or no pain.
Common causes/reasons for endodontic treatment are:
- Inflamed/infected tooth pulp
- Severe sensitivity to hot and cold elements
- Tooth decay
- Chipped or broken tooth
- Trauma to the tooth
- Swelling or tenderness near the infected tooth
- Repeated dental procedures on a tooth
Please contact our office for an appointment if you experience any of the symptoms above. We will evaluate your need for endodontic therapy and provide the appropriate treatment with caring hearts and gentle hands.
